If you're currently using OSMand you should check this one out. It's much smoother. faster, and has a cleaner UI. The search even works great! Even if you're using google maps right now it's still worth checking out imo. The hiking trails and general outdoors maps are much better than google. I do a lot of rock climbing and all my local spots have detailed trail maps with all the boulders. Also it all works offline.

I have both. I strongly prefer the UI of Organic Maps. However, I've found where I live, frankly it just gives me bad directions, whereas OSMand is pretty solid in that area. For me, it seems like Organic Maps gets confused about street types. Like, it thinks a 4 lane road with traffic lights is a "highway" and suggests I take it instead of the interstate, even though that way is much slower. But as soon as Organic Maps stops making that mistake I will gladly switch over. OSMand is hard to look at.

Hmm that's annoying, I don't have a car so I haven't experienced that myself, but that's pretty important... It seems like the project has very active development so hopefully it's just a matter of time.

Oh yeah I test it out every so often, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before Organic Maps becomes a legit Google Maps threat

Hope so, I use it very frequently and I really enjoy it! Definitely still needs to iron out the navigation problems
