So you know how you can piss a bunch of people off by just hanging out in the 'wrong' area? How it 'lowers the property value'?
Couldn't that be turned into a great method to finance a commune? Just move into a more expensive neigbourhood until its cheap enough to buy up much of it, then move onto the next while selling or renting out the old location at high prices.
All landlords are leeches, but I'm not opposed to legally robbing some rich assholes that are the cause for such high rents in the first place.
I mean... drinking beer and listening to music in public could turn into both a job and praxis.
How much money/how many people would it take to start such an operation/are there things like that already underway?
They are gonna call the police to do a "wellnes check" on you once (1) and that's the end of your story.
I'm not talking super small commune. Could the police pull that off at a place with lots of people at it? But I guess it was just a dumb idea.
Anarchist drawing :anarchy-a-white: on properties is somewhat known tactic (allegedly, in Minecraft) tbh
Drinking alcohol and being obnoxious is actually praxis, hear me out guys.
There are better and safer ways to lower property values... :side-eye-1::side-eye-2:
Remembering that story about the guy that would go fire off some rounds into the dirt in his neighborhood every now and then to keep property taxes down.
I conveniently don't have to worry about this because my neighborhood has rampant gun violence and at least 3-5 shootings a month.
:doomer:
They will drive you out first. That’s their profits on the line. Police will stop you. You will be destroyed by them easily.
There has to be a limit to that though. A point where the police cant do shit anymore.
I mean you could probably make money by filming police operatins and suing for te documented infringements.
Money buys 'justice', but you already need a lot to start this to begin with
Sure, it would definetly not be easy, and the aim would of course be higher. This could just serve as a way to finance and grow the organisation. You litteraly buy houses, so housing should not be a problem.
What if you have 100-200 Anarchists doing this semi-professionally? By buying homes you could also house more and more members and grow the project out.
The reason I considered this could work was the insane way 'proerty rights' are valued in courts. You'd own the land, and one you take over a lot, even the HOA.
I guess if you go too high profile with it the state would go in and just drop bombs on you or send their death squads.
But what if you do it decentralized with individual operations not larger than 30-50 people that help each other out during crisis?
