With the decision last week to delay a promised vote on the bipartisan infrastructure legislation, this unfolding spectacle proves a point I have been making for years: The political center of America is underrepresented in the United States Congress, especially in the House of Representatives.

    What the FUCK is he talking about

    Democrats and Republicans just playing tug of war over the term "centrist". It doesn't mean anything more than that.

    The only reason progressives even matter is because your decrepit centrism can barely even beat Donald Trump on a good day!

    Everyone likes to pretend they are normal, reasonable, and popular and that their opponents are cringe, fanatic, weirdos.

    Leftists would do well to use the term "Moderate Marxism" and juxtapose it against "Extremists in the Two Party System" every chance they get.

        we can’t win playing politics adopting their framing bc the concept of being a moderate is always going to be a backdoor for a wide variety of reactionary views/positions

        I think this is less and less true over time, as the political establishment lags farther behind the national consensus.
