My ancient LG phone is finally on its way out and it's time to replace it.

I've been looking at my options and the pixel 5 is what I've got my eye on. I want input about it from real people though.

My main areas of concern are:

  • Longevity - I know it's not been out for a long time but basically I'm asking if it turns into a piece of shit after a few months like galaxy phones tend to.

  • Durability - my current phone has been dropped on pavement, submerged in water, stepped on, and even got crushed under a chair leg one time. It's beat tf up but still works mostly perfectly. Now I'm not expecting every phone to hold up to that level of drunken abuse but I want something that won't shatter and stop working at the slightest bump.

  • Battery longevity - how long did it take before it stopped holding it's charge? My phone had decent battery life for the first couple years but nowadays it doesn't last longer than a couple hours off charger.

  • Features - I'm used to the QOL features that LG has on its phones. I know pixels come with stock android and I just want opinions on that.

I have a Pixel 5, and it's great. Can't speak to durability, since I keep mine in an Otter Box and the thing is like a damn brick, but it holds battery charge for an absurdly long time. Then again, I just upgraded from an OG Pixel XL less than a year ago, and that thing's battery was on its last legs. With the Pixel 5, I've forgotten to put it on the charger overnight and still woken up at 100%, so if nothing else, its power-management features are a lot better than things were several generations ago.

Can you be more specific about QOL features?
