i have a redmi note 12 phone, speaker is working,
normal calls are also working, but when I call using whatsapp or Instagram, I cant hear them, but they can hear me...

Check the microphone permissions for those apps. Might be possible that you accidentally denied permission.
On a sidenote, that title is far more ominous than the actual issue lmao
They said the people on other side can hear them but they can't hear anything so I think microphone is fine but maybe something with volume settings? Definitely needs a lot more trial and error with other audio devices, checking media and so on.
