      Why isn’t it 《苹果的树》, since ‘apple’ is modifying ‘tree’ as an adjective? (also a newbie)

        As another poster already pointed out, 苹果树 is a word by itself, just like 树叶 is also a word.

        Also, 苹果 is not an adjective, however sometimes nouns can modify the meaning of other nouns (ex 白色的鞋子).
