    sounds in the same vein as when they claimed China was subjecting them to endless paperwork for trade of dual-use technology. Then when you read into it more, Chinese officials just started looking more closely at paperwork being filed which makes sense,

    I wouldn’t call that a lie. It’s good to point out that it was just enforcement of existing rules, but it’s still an act of purpose, and a based one at that.

      I more so meant the reporting of it pushed the narrative that they were being subjected to a large burden of paperwork that hasn't been present in the past.

      My bad on not being super clear on that point.
