I read someone online scoff - at least the digital version of scoffing - at Stalin for his Lassallean tendency. What does that mean?
While reading Lenin, he quoted Lassalle to introduce his work What is to be Done?, so I figured there must be a connection with the early Bolsheviks and this socialist.

I have no clue about the Stalin thing but Marx has a work called "critique of the gotha programme" where he dunks on Lassalle for being an opportunist. The gotha programme was a party platform that was (as I view it) what we would call today social democratic. Meaning that the programme was asking for concessions for worker appeasement rather than consolidation of political power.
