There are bots that recycle content from ages months ago to farm karma, including whole comment chains, so you're not crazy.
reddit is like half bots at this point and my personal conspiracy is that they push that auto name generator to make the bot names stand out less.
I just RSS subscribe to 6 based subs. Really improves the signal-to-noise ratio
same, but it's exclusively sports subs so I just have a text list of highlights / transfers / injuries. Can't stand redditors but until there is comparable ad-free sports video zone I'm cursed to see even just a bit of it every day
