A lot of counties are refusing to enforce NY state policy or downplaying regulations. If they try to make you go back to work 5 days after you first exhibit symptoms, call your doctor and get a note saying you have “continuing Covid symptoms”. That should at least get you 5 more days covered without using your personal sick days
