The northern harrier, also known as the marsh hawk or ring-tailed hawk, is a bird of prey. It breeds throughout the northern parts of the northern hemisphere in Canada and the northernmost USA. Males and females both give a fast series of kek notes lasting 1–2 seconds during courtship displays. When threatened by nest predators or mobbed by small birds, they use higher-pitched kek notes. The female gives a piercing scream during the breeding season, prompting the male to either mate with her or bring food.

I know right they are pretty 🆒. Also fun fact about this bird in particular is that they were just called Marsh Hawks for a long time but recently their name was changed to the northern harrier.

Neat! I really like your bird posts. I love birds, myself. I have three pet budgies at home: Frida, Einstein, and Kathleen. I name each of my birds after socialists. Originally, the birds were Frida, Diego, and Einstein, and Frida and Diego were named after the Frida and Diego Rivera. Diego unfortunately passed away very early, and he was the first budgie I was able to hold in my hand without him flying away. I just had a vet visit scheduled the next day because I was concerned about his health. I cried for much of that day, and I miss him very much. He was the best boi. I got a new bird the same day, and I named him Diego II. Unfortunately, he passed away a week later, and I wonder if it was from the same cause because both of them had flat heads (which looked adorable). I got a new bird and named it Diego III, but her cere turned brown, which means she is a girl, so I renamed her to Kathleen (Cleaver). She's such a little acrobat like Einstein, and Einstein loves her. I believe Frida is the dominant bird of the flock, and she's so curious but also lonely. I hope to make a bigger cage for them soon and get more birds so they have more friends.

Aww thanks, I’m glad you like my birdposting. Your birds sound super cute, personally I could never have a bird but I think people who have them are really cool. Sorry about Diego 1 and 2 but Kathleen sounds like a worthy successor to their legacy.
