i dont give a fuck about church history, so if there were better popes, i would like to know
There were funnier popes like the one that tried his predecessor for heresy but the dude was dead so they dug him up and tried the corpse.
The funny part is that he was found guilty, punished, had his papacy nullified and had his remains thrown in the tiber. THEN someone found the remains and declared them a holy relic that performed miracles. THEN the next pope declared the cadaver trial null and void and had the cardinals involved with the trial excommunicated. THEN a couple popes later the trial was actually declared correct and the papacy was renullified, then later popes re-re condemned tbe cadaver trial and had the cadaver unnullified as pope.
Its part of the genre! Come on, that's like getting mad at slasher flicks for "the car won't start!"
If another (former hitler jugend) reactionary pope arrives, francis better be ready

The real question is, why would he give his blessing to an entrepreneur who exploits people?
Cause then the holy see can build the church and save some souls™. One would think protestantism would be better about it but alas
