Vanced has been discontinued. In the coming days, the download links on the website will be taken down. We know this is not something you wanted to hear but it's something we need to do. Thank you all for supporting us over the years.— Vanced Official (@YTVanced) March 13, 2022
how do i find videos on newpipe? no recommendations is a strange design choice, i basically just let yt algorithm figure out what i watch and dont bother with subscriptions
you can still find recommended videos from a certain video, so if you want to find garfield videos just search for one, click on any of them, then go on a journey
it's part of its design choice to remain completely disconnected from YouTube algorithms (at least in my experience I get pretty consistent garbage from youtube recommendations so i don't miss it lol)
best option in your case is prolly to keep using vanced for now, and then swap over to going to youtube on your browser and opening links in newpipe once the compatibility stops
i put quite a bit of work into training my yt to only feed me what i want, lots of clicking "not interested" and "dont recommend channel" and youll eventually have it kinda ok
i can see that. i always did it a few times and shrugged when it seemed to not improve anything, it makes sense that it would need a bigger chunk of data to work well
the more you do it the longer you can scroll before you start seeing generic youtube nonsense, i still get random stuff at the bottom and just click not interested on a few things then refresh
