Attempting to organize for the destruction of private property via a website is not a smart thing to do. It's a great way to draw the attention of the last people you want to have a conversation with.

I don't think you should single out LeBron like that. Steph Curry was also born in Akron. He can pay for the rail too.

So I've lived in both Cleveland and Chicago, as well as NYC and few places in Europe.

First thing, the razing of the lakefront airport in Chicago didn't have anything to do with 9/11, Daley wanted it for his developer buddies. The former runways are now a boat marina and a concert venue and neither are even remotely accessible by public transit. Actually, the entire museum campus is a giant shitshow because you have the major vehicle artery for all of downtown that bisects that area from literally everything else. Trying to get away from Northerly Isle or Soldier Firld after an event is am absolute nightmare. It's even dicey trying to get back to the loop from the museums on a busy summer day. Every so often someone floats the idea of turning Lake shore drive into a four lane road with traffic lights or taking it out all together, especially on the north side, and people immediately lose their minds.

The Burke property in Cleveland would be just as bad, but on a smaller scale. It would make a beautiful nature preserve, especially if they could get the old CPP land as well, but that's about it. The problem you'll always have is route 2. That's a major artery into downtown for people coming into the city from Euclid, Eastlake, Mentor and Painesville. There's no way you could divert all that traffic onto interstate 90. I agree with you that the Burke property should be developed onto something besides an airport for the 5 rich people that still live in Cleveland, though.

Yeah what happened to Meigs shouldn't be celebrated even though an airport on what could be a beautiful waterfront is bullshit. If something similar happened to this place but it was actually used for a decent purpose i would be on board

There already was a King Daley II. There's no need to do a write in, there was a Dakey on the ballot in Lightfoot's election and there's going to be one again in 2023.
