I got my start in TES I: Arena, and I've been on the ride through Tamriel ever since. I don't agree with every point this guy makes, but I think this video is worth the time of anyone with any interest in the Elder Scrolls' history as a game series.

Wasted potential? If you mean the older games, they did quite a bit with what they had to work with.
No, I mean the newer stuff and the way bethesda seemingly wants to turn the games into as generic and broadly marketable of a fantasy as they can, at the expense of the really weird stuff that made it stand out as a setting.

One of the chuddiest chuds I know long complained about how Morrowind was "too ethnic" (his words) and "too political" but absolutely adored Skyrim. He needed the naked/harem mods and "less ethnic" mods of course. :le-pol-face:
