My worry is I may not get the homeless services, because I haven't recently worked in Ireland since I'll be moving back. On the upper note, I could technically have the time to take one of their full time courses for free. On the lower note, from my second hand experience, the homeless housing is extremely unsafe for queer individuals and I'm very visibly queer. Ireland is generally very queer unsafe tbh. I wish Belgium would work out, but I feel like it won't based on the long silences I get from them. Usually when employers go silent on me it means it's a no. :(

Has it been awhile since you have heard from them, or has it been awhile since you reached out, and with no response?

It's mostly they give me the time they think they'll get back to me and it's been 3 times as long as they did.

Not in Belgium, but my dad had to wait months between updates for the public sector job he was applying for. At one point, he even asked if they were moving forward with another candidate and they had to assure him that, no, they just take awhile (maybe 8ish months from start to finish?). He got the job.

They would probably tell you if they are moving forward with another candidate if you have already had an interview with them. There's maybe a chance that they have moved forward with another candidate and have not communicated it to you, but if they haven't told you "no", they could just be slow.

Damn, hope it works out. In a similar boat re: can't find a goddamned job.
