Sometimes they know about the atrocities but think that Chinese people retroactively deserved it for going communist in 1949. Pretty wild.

Ya, there's a lot of straight up genocide denial and people telling Chinese to "just get over it" coming from the Abe defenders. They are trying to rehabilitate the Kwantung Army like they did for the Azov Batallion.

Its the goddamn Japanese who are keeping the issue alive with their constant historical revisionism and denial

Like dont they know that ultimately both koreans and chinese would move on if there was a definitive apology

It's not so much the lack of an apology. The japanese have apologized multiple times. The problem is that they apologize but then do some dumb shit to contradict said apology like visiting Yasukuni shrine or engaging in attrocity denial.

It's like an abuser apologizing to their victim, then days later they're bragging to their friends about how they "put that bitch in her place".

downright scary when you consider that the vast majority of nazi victims lived in areas that also were communists after 1949, or even way before that. people who deny or downplay the r*pe of nanking for that reason would logically also downplay the holocaust and the atrocities of the wehrmacht. and it wouldn't surprise me at all if these people actually are aware of this and already do that.
