CppCon's Failure to Protect the Community

Yet another reason to never touch that piece of shit language ever again:

CppCon leadership and the C++ Foundation board have worked in secret to protect a person convicted of rape and possession of Child Sexual Abuse Imagery. They have refused any transparency into a process where they have decided to allow this person full access to CppCon as an attendee, speaker and trainer. This person is well-known and trusted in the C++ community.

    Weird. That article is the only one that shows up about his conviction on google. I wonder if it's being censored considering he works in tech, and google probably has interests in these people and events.

    He was sentenced in June that year to a term of 120 days in jail and three years probation

    What the fuck lol. 120 days? In JAIL and NOT prison? That's not even a fucking year

      Yeah I can't find anything else about this online. It seems like California has pretty advanced privacy laws around criminal history so trying to find the original case through that turns up nothing. It appears he is no longer in the NY sex offender registry either; a search for O'Dwyer turns up nothing.
