I'm waiting for 4000 series, but I his defence the 3070 gets close to 60fps in 4k, close enough that with vrr it's playable. Also the hdmi 2.1 output means you can output 4k120 (or at the very least not chroma subsample 4k60 output), between that and dlss upscaling you can get pretty good looking 4k120. You could do 1440p at high frames on the 2070, but tv upscalers kinda suck with 1440p outputs, hell even without dlss I'd rather use the graphics card upscalers but still a 4k120 image.
Anyway, the point is I've thought about the pitfalls of having only hdmi 2.0 on my graphics card much more than is healthy.
