walking through the city on foot and and public transportation made me feel better every day
Yeah and NYC has like the most garbage metro in the fucking world. I live in south korea and regularly go to japan and china and elsewhere for shit and it'd blow your fucking mind how much better the subway and train systems are. Even the bus systems.
Even still, going from suburban or rural (the rest of america because NYC is like the only real city) to NYC is still absolutely wild. Imagine if NYC actually pumped money in to get a good public transit system.
It's amazing how trash public transport is in the US that NYC is considered good. I flew from Shanghai to NYC the difference in the trains and subway was stark in terms of how modern and clean the subways are. NYC could use a massive update.
oh yeah, i forgot to mention that as well. the infrastructure has been decaying for decades due to lack of funding and it still kicks the shit out of basically every other city in the country
MTA is about to get booty blasted with cuts because the city has like a 6 billion dollar budget deficit and the fed aint bailing us out anytime soon it seems
