it's literally the bare minimum of acceptance and it truly doesn't mean anything. i hate how so many cis/het content creators have become "gay"/"queer" icons for being asked to say this on a stream or something just to resume playing a game or going back to their normal commentary. its not normalizing trans people, its very much in the same vein of rainbow capitalism - i guarantee that most of these creators know how many lgbt people comprise their fanbase, and they know better to ostracize such a large demographic of their viewership.

    It doesn't take any time/effort and makes people feel accepted and loved. What's your issue?

    Yeah, some of those influencers are probably just saying it without meaning it but it'll only be rainbow capitalism if they are profiting off of this somehow and then using that profit to suppress lgbt/workers rights. Thats something only big corporations can do, not individual streamers or whatever.

        Firstly, yeah of course if they say "trans right" followed by transphobic stuff then obviously they're just pieces of shit.

        As for the rest, yeah, I dunno, I mean, I see what you're saying. I still think it's a net good if more people are openly pro-trans.
