Debian to automatically load non-free [libre] firmware but inform users it is doing so. IMO a compromise to broaden hardware support.

    FOSS firmware absolutism requires decent FOSH which requires uhhhhhhh *checks notes* -- okay well it says here that it requires control of the means of production by the working class

    So the way debian works currently is that there are 3 repositories: main, contrib, and non-free. Main is for FOSS only. Contrib is for FOSS software that has non-free dependencies. Non-free is for software that is not FOSS.

    With the change, Debian is introducing a 4th repository called non-free-firmware, separating the non-free firmware from the other non-free software.
