    I don't understand: why would you pay for the check mark and than hide it?

        Now I have an idea: with the check mark come other privileges like pooling, appearing further up in the feed and stuff, I'm not sure exactly. But that might be a reason to pay for and than people feel ashamed and want to hide it.

          You could actually tell who a lot of the hidden checks were because they were ranked high up in the replies but had practically no engagement.

          Oh, I wasn't aware of these. Makes a lot of sense people want more eyeballs on their tweets without people knowing they pay for them.
