Even the website contents show that it is no wonder he got banned, he also went to his twitter and made multiple threads on NixOS, how it has gone woke and etc.

I don't even know what to say about it, from one point of view, people like this in the community aren't very good, on the other point banning contributors can be damaging to the whole software.

The issue seems much deeper than I even read, so if anybody is in the Nix community, I would be glad to hear your words on the thing as a whole, a big something something had happened in it. I personally am not that deep, but I will maybe edit this post after to include more info on the whole situation.

The first step to resist or undo Woke Invasion in your organization (or your psyche) is to thoroughly understand their creed Critical Race Theory, so as to uncover the fact that generally speaking woke disciples care less about the problems in the world than assuaging their self-centered ideological feelings. 1 The next step, obviously, is then to effectuate an elimination of the wannabe woke invaders from your organization by instituting a culture based on common sense values stripped of identity politics.

Bro just say "Judeo-Bolshevism" you're not fooling anyone.

banning contributors can be damaging to the whole software.

Cut out the rot before it spreads.

nixOS is now the official OS of trans people idk what these dudes expect

There's definitely a give-and-take aspect to it. It is possible to reform these dudes once they've cooled down and realized that working with other people is an unavoidable part of free software. FOSS has a lot of interpersonal angst happening nearly constantly for various reasons, mostly rejected changes & wasted work. I don't think there is much money to be had as a right-wing "the left canceled me" person in FOSS so there's less of an incentive to go down that route because your only fans become, like, 4chan /g/ hyprland idiots who can't even program.

The section where he's taking a principled stand about using a picture of steak as his profile banner was particularly funny.

Even if this guy's opinions were good, his behavior is totally annoying and toxic, and so detrimental to the project. It's inevitable that any big project like this is going to have some chuds, and they can provide good works for it. But don't just give this guy a runway to fuck up all the social organizational aspects of a project, especially when he would never give you the opportunity to do the same.

whatever fuck this loser. even if they did violate their CoC (they obviously didn't) keeping these people out of your community can only be positive

If these people want to be the bottoms of rich right wingers, they can do that somewhere else. Their contributions aren't worth the bullshit and the community toxicity.
