"capitalism is the most efficient system" at transforming decent people into freakish crabs in a bucket overly-competitive kulaks, yes
Last year I started a playlist so I could keep track of my favorite DnB tunes. Somehow my playlist got some attention and is sitting at ~5,000 likes. Which was great because I produce DnB and it was the perfect place to promote my own music.
What's not so great is some people like to play dirty and Spotify doesn't seem to care. Soon after my playlist eclipsed a few thousand likes I began recieving emails every 10 minutes with a takedown notice. The bigger playlists/industry people/whoever use report bots to take out the competition, and since spotify's takedown process is automated its pretty annoying. In order to make my playlist viewable again I had to change the name, which mind you was something like "good tunes 2022".
is that the most worthless job possible? "I work in the playlist industry"
I started contacting Spotify through email, twitter and facebook. For a month straight they would tell me they could do nothing, to contact someone else, do something else. Finally I got a response that they would protect my playlist from these report bots. I was super happy and felt relieved of the anxiety this caused, as by this point the playlist had become a large part of my monthly streams.
"anxiety" Don't let bourgeoisie gaslight and abuse you folks
Fast forward to this week, I get another email from spotify but his time it's a notice that they had DISABLED my account. It's basically something like this, "Hope this finds you well! We have disabled your account for selling accounts/taking compensation/trading accounts". Let's be real here it's impossible to vindicate my name but it's not like I have anything to prove, Spotify isn't going to read this, so please take my word for it. I genuinely do this because I enjoy the genre of music.
"I genuinely enjoy this" Well there's your problem, you need to be a completely soulless abomination if you want to thrive in late capitalism like other PMC thought-leader art critic demons :pete:
I heard that when Ek laughs it doesn't sound like "ha ha ha", it sounds like "ek ek ek"
