Anyone else real conflicted about Bluey?

Most episodes navigate a common experience for kids, and basically all the ones I've seen are funnier than I'd like to admit. Both of these things rock

But then, there's the Bean Dad episode where help is offered to the 6yo with riding a bike, but then denied to the 4yo trying to drink water. Then there's the episode with the moral: If your ADHD makes it hard to fit in, the Army may be your destiny. Then there are all the fun references to "island beats" and "ooga booga"

Am I just doing anxious dad shit? I'm zapping episodes out of my kid's rotation just in case

For real life! I've liked everything I've seen besides Army, which is also an enjoyable episode without considering its message. The Bike episode is just funny to me rather than problematic, and I particularly like a lot of the show's takes on parenting and against perfectionism

I'll probably swap in the re-recorded version of Teasing since it's available, but I don't expect much trouble in helping a kid understand how some common phrases have bad origins, so it's better to use other words that don't

I grew up on mostly old or explicitly Christian media - Lone Ranger, Peter Pan, Bibleman, more than one Carmen VHS tape, and so on. It's pretty wild from my perspective to watch a worldly version of childhood

Word. Season 3 is also out, not sure if you're aware. I'm quite fond of it.There's like one ep per season that gets me a little cringey, but overall they've often got me all teary eyed. :stalin-heart:
