I've seen this piece pop up as some counter in forums or elsewhere online. Its very bizarre, at least in my opinion.
At one point in the piece it says communist led world will still pollute earth like capitalist excesses already do. Down further says how the evil soviets did holodomor genocide or evil ccp great leap genocide and its a ecological destruction.
I don't think most communists are unaware of climate catastrophe or urgency of tackling meat or fossil fuel industry. I don't think those things come about by some divine stroke of shift popular beliefs overnight cause individuals one at a time will influence masses with their choices.
Also the beginning section is odd to me. I don't know if communists or some nominal left leaning people say the ethical consumption line to write off and justify horrible state of the system.
As far as I understand the statement on no ethical consumption : its an indictment of this untenable system and how deeply entwined it is with all forms oppression in order to keep it going.
I don't know overall I think this article is unproductive.
ziq is a meme in every anarchist space, even reddit's. he moderates raddle (yes it's the same ziq) in the same way that he would criticize Stalin for, and was found to have created sockpuppets early on on raddle and even used them to debate with real users. he's a walking meme
Haha yeah, back when I was on that shitty site years ago I once posted an article debunking some "Holodomor" myths on their communism forum (the one specifically for MLs) as a mod of that one at the time, and they used their sockpuppets to attack me in the comments over it and then use said sockpuppets to drive a "democratic" vote to remove me as mod (because they still pretended the site was a direct democracy on all admin actions at the time lol)
All the stuff that went down back then really hurt at the time but in hindsight it's really funny to look back on, especially with Lemmygrad being a thing, which has everything I joined Raddle for but 100x better (except for custom CSS themes, that was pretty cool lol)
