Weird, this comes at a time when I've practically stopped listening to podcasts all together. CN, The Dollop, and Blowback are the only shows I tune in to. Definitely have found memories of SF

Brett had been having a rough time for the past year at least, and then went on antidepressants which was starting to help, but he was still working out the dosage with his doctor leading to manic episodes. I don't think he stopped taking other drugs which probably didn't help.

On top of this Bryan was getting less interested in politics and Brett was getting kind of hostile about it, and it sounds like the show was struggling a bit with subscribers.

This culminated in Brett having an episode, and Bryan and his friends finding Brett dancing around his apartment with a sword doing chants. (Brett talks about it on the last street fight episode he was on).

They then had him forcibly committed for about a week because they thought he was a danger to himself and didn't know what else to do. Brett lashed out at everyone for making him go through that, calling people demons and shit.

Anyway, he got out and did the final street fight episode with both of them, and everyone was concerned he wasn't ready to be back. So Brett left and Bryan took over everything in August. Then Brett started his own thing, and it looked like Bryan was just going to take over street fight by himself, which is how things were for the past three months.

Then this recent stuff happened. I guess Brett wanted to come back, and Bryan doesn't want to work with him anymore, so he abruptly started doing his own thing. Then Brett decided to take over street fight then immediately decided against it. My guess is that they couldn't agree on how to split up the money if that happened. And now street fight is dead.

Brett's last episode on Street Fight was nuts! Brett was pouring out his heart and Bryan was just whinging about having to burn some episodes he'd prerecorded for a planned vacation in the interim for lack of content. It kinda reminded me of the Brett divorce episode where Bryan was just busting his balls and roasting him. Both really great episodes. Bryan makes great content (except for his latest obsession with ranking bodily functions) but is kinda an asshole I think. Brett seems like a nice guy but his latest content is kinda droll. I hope Brett finds his footing and they both do alright going their separate ways.

Yeah, It sounds like Bryan has been in a more stable place mentally and financially this past year and hasn't wanted to deal with Brett's problems, and Brett losing his shit made things a mess for a while, and after taking things over and getting things back on track I can understand not wanting to have to deal with Brett and risk experiencing that again. I dunno, seemed like animosity was brewing between them for a while before then, for whatever reason.

Still, I don't find either of them very compelling on their own, compared to what they were doing together. I couldn't care less about wrestling, shock jocks, legos or nice hotels, which seems like most of what Bryan talks about these days. I don't begrudge him finally being able to splurge on frivilous shit like legos, WWE tickets or fancy hotels, but when that's most of the content of the shows it's kind of alienating. "Subscribe to my podcast so I can tell you about how I piss away the money I'm getting from it!". I'll pass. Brett's podcast is alright, but it's still rough around the edges.
