Is it better than TOR? I been seeing shit about this lately but idk what the fuck it is even after googling it. Is I2P backed by the state like how TOR is or is it bourgeoisie owned?
I'm a big fan.
The difference from TOR is that i2p has unidirectional tunnels; incoming traffic is disconnected from outgoing tunnels.
Worth mentioning that it's only really designed to visit eepsites. You could maybe make it visit www sites, but it would be tricky.
i2p has some key differences from Tor. Also it is "Tor", no all-caps.
With i2p, everyone runs a relay. With tor, relays are run by the community but the average user just has a client. This means that there are ~6,000 Tor relays. There are ~55,000 i2p relays.
Tor has exit nodes to access the normal internet but i2p doesn't officially have off-ramps. There are unofficial ones though.
i2p has native anonymous torrenting built in but torrenting over Tor is largely unsupported.
