If you can't beat them, join them. If you can't join them because you weren't born into an excessively wealthy family, eat them. If you can't eat them (the rich) because they're people and that's illegal, steal from them. And then brag about it on Twitter.

jaywalking isn’t a crime in Canada either.

wow, I also didn't know this. I just assumed based on 'Merica that it was a minor offense but nobody really cared about it unless they were trying to get you for something else.

Where I live the driver is always at fault if they hit a pedestrian, regardless of the circumstances. I could literally walk into oncoming traffic and if I got hit the driver would - legally - be at fault :sicko-biker:

            West coast, Canada.

There are plenty of Canadian cities that are openly hostile to pedestrians though (Calgary for example touts itself as being the most car-friendly city in North America)

oh, same! good to know it's not illegal for me to walk across the street. My city is only minimally walkable, though...

Also I checked out the source where they say "According to some industry data..." and it's literally just another dipshit saying that exact line and doesn't cite their sources either. So I'm going to guess that's bullshit too.
