Think his healing factor has gotten a lot of power creep over the years. Was watching some of the X-Men 95' cartoon recently and it's insinuated he almost dies from Sabertooth raking him once along his ribs, then spends seemingly days with bandages around his torso.

And then in the comics like a decade later he survives a nuke
Yeah I just assume the writers have had to make him more than just metal bones and claws when basically every other character can shoot lasers out their dicks. Seem to remember something about being able to breathe through his skin after he gets decapitated in the comic where the Hulk rips him in half and throws the pieces in opposite directions.
