Wow, it sounds like the CPUSA has become even worse than it was in the 2000s. I thought that things were looking up after that liberal dork Sam Webb quit, but no, it’s still the laughingstock of the far left. Boycotting the pseudodemocracy (except maybe to vote ‘uncommitted’) strikes me as elementary for any socialist, yet the CPUSA can’t even get that right.

Also, I see that the CPUSA has almost always been lousy. This remark is notable:

The party couldn’t countenance open liquidation — perhaps because it once again began to serve its purpose as a magnet for young Communists who don’t know any better.

I am ashamed to say it, but the CPUSA’s surprisingly innocent stances on many issues was something that helped destigmatize communism in my young mind. Of course, now I know that defending gay rights and so on is basic for socialists, so I can’t congratulate them for agreeing on something so elementary. There are plenty of better organizations that have that nailed down and more.
