I'm trying to figure out the point. We already have a de-facto digital currency. Banks and credit unions just store money as digital records, and Interac means that everyone with a domestic bank or credit union account can sent or receive money digitally and instantly to/from anyone else with a domestic bank or credit union account.
These are great points I didn't think of. This could also be the low-key business/political fight of the century. Bay Street benefits from the current arrangment.
