    Astrology taught me about propaganda. I knew people that were into it, but if you pushed back even a little they'd immediately say it's all just for fun and they don't really believe all that. But then they'd absolutely change their actions according to what their horoscope told them. They didn't actually believe it, they knew it was just for fun, yet their actions were the actions of people that did believe it, there was no difference. And if anything then admitting it was silly was the perfect cover to keep doing it. Propaganda isn't making people genuinely believe 2 plus 2 is 5. It's getting people to know that's not true but go along with it anyway because it makes them feel better or like part of the ingroup.

      Those people are the woooorst. As you said, any pushback results in saying “it’s just for fun” but then they literally say they won’t date a Scorpio or that they can predict someone’s sign because of their actions (and when they’re wrong, they ask about the rising or the moon sign or whatever the fuck).
