I don't see Man-Thing growing magical weed plants.
Man-Thing doesn't control plants
He just kills industrialists by lighting them on fire
Oh yeah, he kills some real nasty pieces of work in some of the earlier comics.
Shame he doesn't keep up the tradition in more recent comics
Last I remember he becomes a chauffeur for a weak incarnation of The Thunderbolts
