Steve Huffman, the Reddit CEO, told NBC News in an interview that a user protest on the site this week is led by a minority of moderators and doesn’t have wide support.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, democracy simply doesn't work
Every yahoo who has wanted to take over a subreddit because "they banned me because they're assholes" will now reddit-request a closed-for-the-protest subreddit, and probably get it, too.
That user requesting the main science subreddit. Supplements, conspiracy theories, the main right wing subreddit, and anti-psychiatry. I would love if all the cornerstone subreddits had a goober like this take over and just completely torpedo all of the quality standards they've set over the years.
On r/redditrequest, scabs are requesting subs that are private for the protest. A scab requested r/science "due to inactivity".

Can’t wait for :reddit-logo:’s blatant bigotry to at least double when this happens
reddit admins granting these requests will actually kill the website lmao
