To be honest if you already own a pressure cooker you need little more than a few big transparent boxes (your still air box + monotubs), some sterile petri dishes, some agar and some spores. Ultimately this ends up being cheaper than kits, as well as more reliable.
Start with oysters, they hard to fuck up and they're tasty. If you dont want to start from spore, or dont have to cause its legal, buy some spawn. Far less finicky.
If you're growing indoors you can mix the spawn in with boiled sawdust or paper or hay in a big bag, poke a few holes in it, and let it sit somewhere hot in a box with a pan of water for humidity.
Give it like a month and then shove it in the light and douse it with water. Should sprout shortly.
Growing outdoors is even easier but takes longer you need fresh logs of the right species, which can be hard to get if you dont have a tree you want to chop down.
