Technically it was done a while ago, but now there's a comm for it! The hull gun on the front is magnetized and can be swapped out for a laser, and the sides are magnetized as well so I can put sponsons on if I ever get around to having some 3d printed. The turret-hull connection is just a giant circular hole so it pops off real easy and I have taken to blu-tacking it in place for transport/games.

The actual name for the model is "Mars Alpha Leman Russ Incinerator", and I run it as an Executioner in 40k.

Behold, the warm glowing warming glow of the turret gun (which I'm still not really happy with even after like 10 revisions):

Actually it's a resin recast, not a print, so I guess the material is chinese mystery resin, lol. In the past I've had success using gorilla super glue gel on both resin casts and SLA 3d prints.

I just read about this yesterday but apparently it's super unsafe to breathe in resin dust so if you do any sanding please wear a respirator! Did you hand paint this or airbrush/spray paint?

Haha yeah I have a respirator and am very meticulous about cleaning up afterwards so it should be good. Thanks for the concern though! I'm always shocked by how cavalier people are with this kind of stuff.

This is all painted by hand except for the initial coat of (neutral gray) primer. Sadly I don't have the space or ventilation to set up an airbrush, so I was forced to suffer while painting the white.

Super cheap and easy to make yourself too, I just have a deep plate with a few sheets of wet paper towel with a piece of parchment paper on top.

NONE of the parchment paper where I live is water permeable so I had to buy an actual water palette to get the special paper.

Can confirm, a wet palette is well worth the ~$10 when you're already spending like $3 per color of paint.

Where did you find the recast if you don't mind me asking? I've been looking at blackmarketminis but they're based in Russia so I think they're still affected by the various sanctions and unable to process payments

DM'd, and will do so to anyone else who's interested. When it comes to things like this, remember to keep the code of silence. 🤫
