i would be a politican campaigning for free gasoline for all, if i can nationalize the petroleum industry i would, if i can get get control through appeasing the shareholders ill do that too. all that really matters is i would be a politican who has absolute control over the oil industry. to almost everyone i would appear to be pro-oil and pro-car, i would deny climate change, i would fight public transportation, i would ban high speed rail if that means i could stop all oil production with just a phone call, because there's a reason i want to control the oil industry.

i would put a chemical in the fuel supply that would slowly destroy engines over a period of months, if fuel is free then more cars would be destroyed. once people start to realize that the fuel is bad the damage would have already been done, at this point i would deflect any possible legal action towards me to my co-conspirators, and i would flee to an island where the law cant touch me for having done billions, possibly trillions in economic damage by destroying a good chunk of the worlds automobiles.
