Add in: I start the first chapter and my ADHD kicks in and I find myself distracted by even the tiniest of things which causes me to set down the book and forget about it for a month. I must start over now because I've forgotten what I read so far.
I find there's also a factor of available energy. What I notice often happens is that browsing stuff like social media requires less mental effort than reading. So, you kind of just do it mindlessly when you’re bored, but then you end up regretting not having spent the time doing something you would’ve found more meaningful instead.
I sometimes read nothing for months and then binge a 2000-page novel over a single week
For me the writing style plays a huge role, some books I can chew through really fast and others I just read in small bites for months. :)
I got like 300 chapters into a web novel and then had a lot of stuff to do and stopped reading it for a year
I struggle reading novels but can blast through a 30,000 word fanfiction no problem, I don’t understand why lol
Yes but, in my defence, I was busy sewing so no reading them pile of interesting books today. 🙂↔️Tomorrow deffo… maybe?
