Cascadia as a term I used to identify with, being from an island in the coastal region, but I don't know much about how our indigenous neighbors feel about this word, since it was created by and for settlers.
Those of us from the settler nations can continue defining ourselves in this manner, but I think any legitimate movement for constructing Socialism and decolonizing needs to seriously approach our indigenous neighbors and receive the blessings of their political structures (especially the elder systems).
Every time I hear a Cascadia advocate speak about Land Back it is very surface level. Ensure that we aren't just changing colonial borders.
As someone from Turtle Island, I believe that one of the first steps to decolonization is to phase the colonizer language out, I believe that Indigenous languages should be taught at all schools
