I thought de-federating would mean hexbear couldn't post and comment in dot world threads, but their user never being able to interact even on third instances is quite interesting and a lot of control for one admin to wield over 100k users.
At least the Lemmy.world defederation will stop a lot of the libs from seeing your stuff

Right, that’s the danger of too much centralization in the Fediverse. At least in the Fediverse, you can go to another instance with better admins.
