I think they moved out of the "let's have a discussion about banning nazis" phase to the "Really, were the Nazis as bad as everyone thinks they were?" phase.
They still had that discussion phase in the first place, they had none for Hexbear. Shows their real views very strongly. If they thought they could get away with it, they would've never defederated.
