Violence is actually rising because extremists feel legitimated now. Once they were content with just discrediting their opponents, now we have arrived to public assaults (especially if you are "visible" online). They know how to collect information about you on social networks and if you expose yourself too much, well, you're not in a good position. I am lucky because I am not young any more and don't share too much online, I wouldn't have resisted 1 day in my 20s in today's world.
it's not all that different in the US tbh. we've got an emphasis on anonymity on this server because folks like us are targeted here as well with the same tactics
The Allies who helped liberating large parts of Europe from totalitarianism last century are the same ones that are helping them get back in power.
