There wasn’t much actual value to destroy. Hype is hype, and while the chat bots and image painters can be fun tools, in reality, l they’re just copyright remixing algorithms that have been trained on some of the worst things humanity has created (unedited internet garbage).
Maybe someday, if/when rational thought in an ai is possible, but until then it’s gonna be hallucinating and gaslighting and impossible to trust.
It is useful for some thing. Computer vision image recognition can be more accurate than the conventional algorithm but performance very bad.
