A nice sharp cheese is an excellent pair to dark chocolate, perhaps along with dried fruit. A mild or soft cheese like brie complements a tart jam or the like marvelously. Go ahead and put a slice of cheese over your blueberry pie.

Yes...there's a reason cheeses are in the dessert menu.
what?
Cheese is a classic dessert. Also usually paired with sweet wines or spirits like port and brandy.
sounds fake
cheesecake?
If you go to a fancy restaurant, especially one that is based on French food, you can generally choose a cheese board or some other cheesy thing for dessert, with a selection of honey, jam, and crackers. Goes well paired with a lighter Sauternes or possibly a limoncello.
You can of course go extra and have both Dessert AND Cheese, but beware the order. The British have the cheese last, with a port. The French before the dessert proper. Wars have been fought over this.
