There are some places like Washington state which use sand and magnesium chloride, which is a bit less corrosive than regular sodium chloride/road salt, but otherwise yeah
Cars get hot and break in the summer all of the time, but just WAIT until these things see their first winter. Salt, potholes, snow, ice, and cold.
Looking forward to the subframe actually rusting apart after the first 2 years in any locale that still uses road salt
