The theory Oedipus_complex by Freud, states (if I understood it correctly), that children usually crave incest, but then grow out of it.

Freud argued that children start to feel attracted to their parents at a young age and indeed grow out of it. It is somewhat true as anyone who has ever been around kids is bound to have heard some of them say they are 'in love' with either their mother or their father. Which is normal behavior as often these people are the biggest presence in a kids life and as children aged they most of the times discover things like love and stuff.
It is, however, not okay to go off the rails with it (like Freud for example) and downplay stuff like sexual abuse as hidden desires of kids.
And I must add: I studied psychology and it is shocking how little criticism stuff like this gets. Same for that dipshit Zimbardo or Milgram.
