I hope she stays safe, not that I think the Russian government will hurt her, im actually worried about the Canadian one plus certain organizations supported by this government.
From what I read the movie isn’t even pro-war, she interviews some soldiers getting their perspective on the war and then apparently they come to the conclusion that it isn’t what they thought. I’ll try to find the article about it.
Indeed, it was very brave of her to make the documentary, and this is precisely the kind of thing that's needed as tension continue to heighten. The fact that our government shut down the viewing is frankly criminal. Nazi ghouls like Freeland are driving us towards a nuclear holocaust.
It’s incredibly telling that it’s not about which side you’re on at this point, it’s just pure hatred towards anything Russian. That’s it. Because the movie does not take a pro-Russia stance and the director said she was on Ukraine’s side, so what’s the problem? It shows Russians as people and apparently that’s bad. I feel like because our government and its organizations are incredibly Russophobic that they’re trying to make that sentiment the norm. At least that’s what I’m thinking, hopefully I’m wrong.
Importantly, the war exposed the hatred that was clearly already there. It just wasn't polite to openly hate Russians before, and once the taboo was dropped then we started to see the true face of the west.

Edit: here’s an article about it. It’s anti-war.
