where to host pictures?
Removed by modI have tried to post images dozens of times in Jeroba and on web and it often crashes or doesn't let me submit images. Tips on where to host these so they show up in the feed (and don't require the user to click to another site)
Some instances have a 100kb limit, which is understandable, but very inconvenient if you don't have a way to shrink the filesize down. This is my best estimation as to why you get errors when trying to upload directly to posts, as it's happened to me bouncing between various instances. There's usually a statement in the "About this site"/sidebar area on your instance's main page.

So you'll have to use some alternatives; I've seen catbox.moe used a lot on Lemmy.
I use https://vgy.me/ currently. Unfortunately I'm not aware of any open-source options, but vgy at least seems friendly and easy to work with.
Community !pixeldrain@lemmy.fornaxian.tech speaks of a 20Mb limit, nice graphs and will host any format.
